Privacy Policy

theorytestpractice.ie ("we") is an independent study tool for the Irish Driver Theory Test, operated by Avlas Digital, a sole trader registered in Ireland, who is the data controller. This policy explains what data we collect and why.

What we collect

Without an account: your practice progress is stored only in your browser (localStorage). We don't see it.

With a Google account: we store your email address, name, your practice progress and mock exam results, so they sync across your devices. Sign-in is handled by Supabase Auth; we never see your Google password.

If you pay: payments are processed by Stripe. We store your payment status and plan. We never see or store your card details.

AI instructor: when you ask the AI about a question, your message and the question content are sent to Google's Vertex AI service to generate a reply. Don't include personal information in AI questions.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data and we don't show third-party ads. Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies are set only if you click OK in the cookie banner: they count which pages get used and whether our ads lead to purchases. We never allow ad personalisation. Change cookie choice. Until you choose, or if you click No thanks, the Google tag runs in consent-denied mode: it stores nothing on your device and only sends Google an anonymous signal that an ad click led to a visit or a purchase. If you arrive from one of our ads, we keep the click reference in your browser for that tab only, so a purchase can be matched to the ad; it is discarded after the purchase or when you close the tab. If you are signed in, we also save the latest click reference on your account and pass it to Stripe with your order, so a purchase made later or on another device can still be matched to the ad; saved references are deleted after 90 days.

Your rights

Under GDPR you can request a copy of your data or its deletion at any time — email hello@theorytestpractice.ie. Deleting your account removes your profile, progress and exam history. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
