Question 1930 · Bus theory test
Is a driver who holds a full Category D licence restricted to automatic transmission (code 78) permitted to drive a conventional manual bus or coach on that licence?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
No.
Official explanation
If you pass your driving test in a vehicle equipped with automatic transmission, a code 78 is noted in the restrictions column of your full licence. This restricts you to driving only vehicles with automatic transmission. If you subsequently wish to drive a manual vehicle in that category, you must obtain a new learner permit and comply with the regulations pertaining to learner permits, including L plates and accompanying driver.
