Question 500 · Car theory test
When should a driver use the vehicle's side lights?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
When parking on an unlit road.
Official explanation
When leaving a vehicle on an unlit public road at night, this creates a potential danger for other road users. Drivers should therefore leave side/parking lights on so that the vehicle can be seen by other road users. Drivers should not leave headlights on when parked, as this may cause other road users to become disoriented.
