Question 527 · Car theory test
What should a driver do before getting out of the vehicle?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
Check their side mirror and look behind before opening the door.
Official explanation
Before opening any door, check for other road users passing, and in particular, look out for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists. Exit the vehicle only when it is safe to do so, and close the door as soon as possible. Wherever possible, passengers should exit on the side nearest the kerb, wherever possible.
