Question 675 · Car theory test
What should drivers do if they approach roadworks and there is earth-moving machinery moving about?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
Reduce speed as there may be loose gravel or muck on the road.
Official explanation
Where earthmoving machinery is working, there are likely to be mud and gravel deposits on the road. Also, the noise of such machines might make it hard for road workers to hear the approaching traffic. When you come across earth-moving machinery, slow down and proceed with extreme caution.
