Question 1201 · Truck theory test
When driving a low-loader vehicle with a wide load, what should a driver allow for?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
Narrow bridges.
Official explanation
A low loader is a semi-trailer used to transport heavy oversized vehicles. When loaded, it may be higher, wider and lower than a standard vehicle. If you are driving such a vehicle, you should be aware of these extra hazards and plan your route accordingly, avoiding, where necessary, obstacles such as humpback or narrow bridges and overhead cables.
