Question 1647 · Truck theory test
What safety precaution should a driver take when getting out of their vehicle?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
Check all around for approaching traffic and pedestrians before opening the door.
Official explanation
Before opening any door, check for other road users passing, and in particular, look out for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists. Exit the vehicle only when it is safe to do so, and close the door as soon as possible. Passengers should exit on the side nearest the kerb wherever possible.
