Question 1835 · Truck theory test
What should the driver of a large vehicle consider before overtaking another large vehicle?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
The speed of the vehicle being overtaken.
Official explanation
Before overtaking another large vehicle, the driver of a large vehicle needs to assess the road ahead, and take into consideration the speed of the vehicle they are driving and the speed of the vehicle they intend overtaking. They should be sure that they can complete the manoeuvre safely. Overtaking a large vehicle with a large vehicle takes more time and greater distance than a similar manoeuvre involving two cars.
