After overtaking another vehicle, what should a driver do?

Gradually move back into the left when the vehicle has been passed.
Official explanation
After overtaking, check your mirrors, signal and return to your normal lane position as soon as it is safe. Take a smooth easy line, gradually moving back in and allowing the other vehicle plenty of space and don’t cut in sharply.
