Question 1891 · Truck theory test
Given similar road conditions and vehicle speeds, what braking distances will a truck or bus/minibus need compared to a car?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
Longer distances.
Official explanation
When driving a car on a good road in good weather, the driver should leave at least a 2-second gap between them and the vehicle in front. A larger vehicle needs a bigger gap, because of its greater weight and momentum. The driver should allow at least a 4-second gap under normal conditions, and even more on wet or icy roads.
