Question 231 · Car theory test
What should a driver do if they encounter loose chippings on a road?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
Slow down and allow extra clearance for other traffic.
Official explanation
Where there are loose chippings on the road, you should slow down and comply with any reduced speed limit, and leave extra room for clearance between your vehicle and other traffic. This will also give you more time to stop if you need to, and it will help to reduce the amount of chippings your vehicle throws up against other vehicles and possible injury to pedestrians.
