Question 335 · Car theory test
When should a driver use hazard warning lights on a motorway?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
When the vehicle has broken down.
Official explanation
If your vehicle breaks down on a motorway, drive it to the hard shoulder and switch on the hazard warning lights to warn following traffic. When it is safe to do so, get out of the vehicle and move behind the barrier. Call for assistance from a motorway emergency phone or, using a mobile phone, call the Gardaí.
