Question 382 · Car theory test
While driving, the driver notices the vehicle temperature gauge showing red. What should they do?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
Stop in a safe place and have the problem investigated.
Official explanation
Many vehicles are fitted with various warning lights and gauges. A warning light or a red zone on a temperature gauge means the engine is starting to overheat, and the vehicle should not be driven until the problem is rectified. Refer to the vehicle handbook for further information and guidance, or seek advice from a competent person.
