Question 412 · Car theory test
What is the most common cause of heavy steering?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
Under-inflated tyres.
Official explanation
Heavy steering is when a driver needs to use more effort than usual to turn the steering wheel. This may be as a direct result of under-inflated tyres. Check your tyre pressures, but be aware there may be other causes of heavy steering, such as a low power steering fluid level. Seek advice from a competent person and have this investigated immediately.
