How does harsh acceleration affect fuel consumption?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
Fuel consumption increases.
Official explanation
Harsh acceleration increases fuel consumption. Smooth acceleration helps to reduce fuel consumption and the emissions from vehicles. Try not to overdrive the engine and use the appropriate gear for the speed of the vehicle. When slowing down, take your foot off the accelerator and allow the vehicle to slow progressively before you brake.
