Question 432 · Car theory test
After a heavy downpour, why should a driver keep a greater distance from the vehicle in front?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
Because the required stopping distance is greater.
Official explanation
On a wet road surface, your tyres do not grip the road surface as well as in dry conditions, and your required stopping distance is increased. Because of that, you should slow down during or after rain and keep a greater distance from the vehicle in front.
