Question 793 · Car theory test
How should a driver react to emergency services vehicles with flashing blue lights and sirens on?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
Check their mirrors before looking for space to move aside.
Official explanation
If you see any emergency vehicle approaching with lights and sirens activated, check your rear-view mirrors to gauge the speed of the emergency vehicles, and also look out for pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists, and other road users. Indicate your intention to pull over. Pull over only in a space that has enough room for the emergency vehicles to pass safely. Move off safely with appropriate observations and signals after the emergency vehicle has passed.
