Question 1149 · Truck theory test
What is an effect of under-inflated tyres on a vehicle?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
Impaired braking and steering.
Official explanation
Drivers should check their vehicle’s tyre pressures (including the spare) regularly at least once a week. Under-inflated tyres adversely affect many of a vehicle’s systems, including braking ability, suspension, steering, fuel consumption and premature tyre wear. Tyres should always be inflated according to the vehicle manufacturer’s guidelines, information on which can be found in the vehicle handbook.
