Question 1328 · Truck theory test
What type of energy is stored up by a moving vehicle?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
Kinetic.
Official explanation
Drivers need to be aware that kinetic energy is energy of motion and is stored in a travelling vehicle and may adversely effect the driver’s ability to slow down and stop. Be aware that every time a driver doubles their speed, they quadruple the amount of kinetic energy. This will considerably increase the breaking distance of the vehicle.
