Question 1587 · Truck theory test
What would a lightness in the steering MOST likely indicate?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
Icy surface.
Official explanation
Lightness in steering indicates a loss of traction. This generally happens when the road surface is icy. Ice provides a harder, smoother surface than rain or snow, so it is difficult to avoid skidding, and drivers should allow up to 10 times the normal braking distance in order to stop safely.
