Question 1726 · Truck theory test
What impact can a vehicle with a high cab have on the driver’s ability to see vulnerable road users?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
A high cab can make it more difficult to see pedestrians, cyclists and e-scooter users around the cab area.
Official explanation
In a vehicle with a high cab it can be more difficult for the driver to see pedestrians, cyclists and e-scooter users that may be around their vehicle. They may be out of sight below the windscreen line and/or side window line. Drivers should ensure that they use blind-spot and cyclops mirrors which must be fitted and used, particularly when moving off and in slow-moving traffic.
