Question 1770 · Truck theory test
What should a driver avoid doing when a front tyre blows out?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
Harsh braking.
Official explanation
Hard and sudden braking will make the vehicle more unstable, so do not do it with reduced road grip. If your front tyre blows out: Keep a firm hold on the steering wheel, be aware of anything on your left side, signal left and try to steer a steady course to the left side, slow down gradually and avoid hard braking, try to stop the vehicle under control as far to the left as you can, switch on the hazard warning lights, use a red warning triangle except on a motorway.
