Question 1791 · Truck theory test
A large vehicle is being driven up a steep hill where the nearside (left-hand) lane is marked ‘slow lane’. What should the driver do?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
Drive in the slow lane to allow other traffic to overtake.
Official explanation
Slow lanes (sometimes referred to as crawler or climbing lanes) have been introduced on some roads to allow large slow-moving vehicles to keep in, allowing faster-moving traffic to pass more safely. When driving a large vehicle, you should use such lanes where possible to help improve traffic flow.
