Question 1840 · Truck theory test
While driving, a driver notices a strong smell of fuel. What should they do?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
Stop where safe and investigate.
Official explanation
A strong smell of fuel is usually an indication that something is wrong, and drivers should stop and investigate as soon as possible. Leaking or spilling petrol can be dangerous because it is so combustible, and leaking diesel fuel can make the road very slippery.
