Question 1853 · Truck theory test
Which type of vehicle is more likely to be affected by the air-turbulence caused by a passing high-sided vehicle?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
Cars towing caravans.
Official explanation
A high-sided vehicle creates air turbulence to the sides and rear of the vehicle, and this turbulence increases with the speed of the vehicle. This affects other road users, and in particular pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists and cars towing caravans. The driver should take extra care when passing such road users, to avoid blowing them off course.
