The centre is on Level 3 of Dun Laoghaire Shopping Centre. Prometric lists it as the Dublin South Test Centre, so that is the name you will see on your booking confirmation.
Put the Eircode A96 PW84 into your sat nav or the Google Maps link above rather than the street name. Eircodes point at the exact building, which matters for centres on an upper floor or inside a shopping centre or business park. Prometric asks candidates to arrive 30 minutes before the appointment time for check-in, so allow extra time for parking or public transport. If you are late you will not be allowed to test and you lose the fee.
What to bring
One original photo ID from the list Prometric accepts. Photocopies and pictures on your phone are refused, and the name on the ID must match the name on your booking exactly.
- Public Services Card with a photograph
- Passport (valid, or expired by no more than 12 months) or an Irish Passport Card
- National identity card from an EU/EEA state or Switzerland
- Irish learner permit or full driving licence (category B or A), valid and in good condition
- Irish Travel Document or a current Ukrainian driving licence
Truck (C) and bus (D) candidates also need a full category B licence, or a current C or D learner permit or licence, on top of the photo ID. Have your booking confirmation number to hand as well.
On the day
- Check-in: staff verify your ID and some personal details from your booking, then use a security wand to check for phones and Bluetooth devices. You may be asked to turn out pockets or roll up sleeves.
- Lockers: phones, watches, smart glasses, bags and notes go in a locker. Nothing comes into the test room with you.
- The test: car and motorcycle candidates answer 40 questions in 45 minutes, pass mark 35. Truck and bus tests are 100 questions in 120 minutes, pass mark 74. The session is monitored and recorded.
- Result: pass or fail shows on screen as soon as you finish. A link to your score report is emailed to the address on your booking. The pass certificate is valid for 2 years.
