Question 390 · Car theory test
When a driver is making a left-hand turn, what mirrors should they particularly concentrate on?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
The interior and left exterior mirror.
Official explanation
When turning left, drivers should, in particular, be aware that cyclists and other vehicles may come up on their nearside (left-hand side). For that reason, when checking mirrors, it is particularly important to check both the left exterior and the interior mirror before turning. Drivers must always use the Mirrors-Signal-Mirror-Manoeuvre routine when turning. They should be particularly careful if crossing the path of a bus or cycle lane.
