Question 477 · Car theory test
What lights should be shown on a parked car, tractor, or works vehicle at night on an unlit public road?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
At least one side lamp, front and rear, on the side nearest the centre of the road.
Official explanation
When leaving a vehicle on an unlit public road at night, this creates a potential danger for other road users. Drivers should therefore leave side/parking lights on so that the vehicle can be seen by other road users. Drivers should not leave headlights on when parked, as this may cause other road users to become disoriented.
