Question 3059 · Motorcycle theory test
When riding a motorcycle around a bend on an unlit road at night with no oncoming traffic, which light should a motorcyclist use?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
Full beam headlight.
Official explanation
On an unlit road at night, motorcyclists should use their main beam headlight to help them see and be seen. Using main beam on approach to a bend helps unseen oncoming traffic to become aware of the motorcyclist’s presence earlier. However they should then use dipped headlights when they become aware of approaching traffic or pedestrians on the road.
