Question 3133 · Motorcycle theory test
How should a motorcyclist normally stop their engine?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
Turn off the ignition.
Official explanation
The normal sequence in stopping a motorcycle engine is as follows: Close the throttle. Engage neutral. Switch off the engine using the ignition key. Switch off the fuel tap (if fitted). If you use the ignition key to stop the engine, you are less likely to leave the key in the ignition when leaving the motorcycle. The emergency engine stop switch should be used only in an emergency.
