Question 1117 · Truck theory test
What should the driver do when driving a vehicle they are not familiar with?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
Initially drive with extra care and at a lower speed until fully familiar with the vehicle.
Official explanation
You should know where to find and how to operate all the controls on your vehicle, including all of its safety features and warning lamps. When you are driving, you need to be able to concentrate on what's happening around you, and operating the vehicle controls should be second nature to you. When you sit into the driver's seat of a vehicle you are not familiar with, you should do a thorough cockpit drill before you move off.
