After overtaking another large vehicle, what should a driver do before moving back into the left-hand lane?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
Check the left-hand mirror, signal, and move back when it is safe to do so.
Official explanation
Before overtaking a large vehicle on a dual carriageway or motorway, you should check your right-hand mirror, signal and move out into the right-hand lane when it is safe to do so. After overtaking the vehicle, check your left-hand mirror, signal and move back in to the left-hand lane when it is safe to do so. Do not cut too quickly across the vehicle you have just passed.
