Question 1477 · Truck theory test
On a vehicle equipped with an air-brake system, what is an indication of low air-pressure?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
A warning light comes on and/or a buzzer sounds in the cab.
Official explanation
Most modern HGVs and buses are fitted with air brakes. If air pressure drops in the braking system, a warning light and/or buzzer alerts the driver. The driver should pull in and stop safely before total loss of air pressure. Other examples could be that the air pressure gauge shows insufficient pressure and there could be a sound of an air leak.
