Question 3099 · Motorcycle theory test
If a motorcyclist, as a vulnerable road user, rides too close behind a large vehicle, what could happen?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
The motorcyclist will not be visible to the driver of the large vehicle.
Official explanation
Motorcyclists, as vulnerable road users, should stay well back from larger vehicles in order to see and be seen more clearly. If the motorcyclist rides too close, the driver of the large vehicle may not be aware that they are there. The motorcyclist will also be hidden from the view of oncoming traffic and their view of the road ahead may be obstructed.
