Question 3007 · Motorcycle theory test
What action should a motorcyclist take in the event of a front-wheel sideways skid?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
Steer in the same direction that the motorcycle is heading and release the throttle.
Official explanation
In the event of a front-wheel sideways skid, motorcyclists should steer the motorcycle in the direction of the skid and release the throttle. Skids happen when speed or direction suddenly change and tyres cannot maintain their grip on the road. Reduce the risk of skidding by adjusting the speed to the conditions and avoiding harsh operation of the controls.
