Question 3064 · Motorcycle theory test
What lights should a motorcycle show if broken down at night on an unlit road?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
A white light to the front and a red light to the rear.
Official explanation
If a motorcycle is parked/broken down on an unlit road at night, it creates a potential danger for other road users. It is the rider’s responsibility to ensure that their motorcycle can be seen, so they should switch on their vehicle’s parking lights (white to the front and red to the rear). On most motorcycles, this can be done by turning the key another click past the lock position on the ignition switch, after which the key can be removed.
