Question 3006 · Motorcycle theory test
What does this foot lever, located on the offside (right-hand side) of a modern motorcycle, operate?

Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
The footbrake.
Official explanation
On a modern motorcycle fitted with manual transmission, the rear brake lever is located on the offside (right-hand side) in front of the footrest. The motorcyclist applies the rear brake by pressing the pedal with their right foot. The rear brake is not as effective as the front, so motorcyclists should use it in conjunction with the front brake for optimum stopping power. Many modern motorcycles have a combined braking system, consult the vehicle handbook for further information.
