Question 3037 · Motorcycle theory test
What should a motorcyclist do while riding through a flood?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
Keep the engine revolutions high.
Official explanation
Approach flooded areas with caution. If the flood water appears too deep, find an alternative route. If it appears shallow enough to safely pass, ride through in a low gear and keep the engine revolutions high in order to prevent water entering the exhaust. Before continuing the journey, test the brakes two or three times to ensure they are working before proceeding.
