Question 3103 · Motorcycle theory test
What in particular should a motorcyclist be aware of when following a large truck or bus?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
Vehicles emerging from side roads may not see the motorcycle behind the larger vehicle.
Official explanation
When on a motorcycle following behind a large truck or bus, motorcyclists will not be easily visible to motorists emerging from side roads. Always read the road ahead and allow plenty of space between the motorcycle and the vehicle in front. Motorcyclists should bear this in mind and stay well back when approaching junctions with side roads. They should increase their own visibility by wearing full hi-vis clothing and have headlamp/s on at all times.
