Question 3141 · Motorcycle theory test
When should a motorcyclist brake firmly?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
When travelling in a straight line.
Official explanation
It is always safer to brake when travelling upright in a straight line. Motorcyclists should avoid braking on bends, and always adjust their braking to suit the road conditions. On approach to bends brake early and complete braking before the bend. Braking in a bend can cause the bike to straighten up and possible loss of control.
