Question 3131 · Motorcycle theory test
Why is special care required when taking bends on a motorcycle with a sidecar attached?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
The extra weight makes the sidecar outfit more difficult to manoeuvre.
Official explanation
Special care is needed when riding a motorcycle with a sidecar attached. This is particularly the case on bends and when turning – you cannot lean the unit in the way you can with a solo motorcycle, and the unit needs to be steered with a deliberate push or pull on the handlebars. This requires considerably more effort than leaning.
