Question 3041 · Motorcycle theory test
When should a motorcyclist avoid using the front brake?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
When the motorcycle is banked over or when turning.
Official explanation
Motorcyclists should avoid using the front brake while banked over in bends, while turning at a junction, and on loose surfaces. Using the front brake in these situations can cause the motorcycle to straighten up in the road and go straight on, or cause loss of control. If at all possible avoid braking on a bend, however if the motorcyclist must brake on a bend, gently use the rear brake.
