Question 3093 · Motorcycle theory test
When is it permitted to ride a motorcycle or moped on a public road, without wearing a helmet?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
It is never permitted.
Official explanation
Motorcyclists are legally required to wear an approved motorcycle helmet while riding a moped or motorcycle in a public place. The helmet should meet EU standards and be securely fastened. Be aware it is illegal to wear an unsecured helmet when riding a motorcycle. An unsecured helmet is not fully effective in the event of a crash, and indeed may have a more adverse effect.
