Question 1427 · Truck theory test
What impact can a vehicle with a high cab have on the driver’s ability to see other road users?
Pick an answer to test yourself.
Correct answer
A high cab can make it more difficult to see pedestrians and cyclists around the cab area.
Official explanation
In a vehicle with a high cab it can be more difficult for the driver to see pedestrians and cyclists that are around the cab area. They may be out of sight below the windscreen line and/or side window line. Blind-spot and Cyclops mirrors must be fitted and used, particularly when moving off and in slow-moving traffic.
